==Ensign James - Its only a short walk...==
<pre style='font-size:12px;'><nowiki>(( FACILITY EDDIMO – Storage Area ))
VALIS: Given my character's apparent importance, I believe it to be imperative
that I at least appear to lead the group. Mr. James, as you have chosen the work
robes of a mere custodian, you would be expected to take up the rear position...
and try not to be noticed. If anyone asks about our reason for associating with
you, it could become quite awkward. Lt. Weston, if you are wearing your
"bracer," it would be most helpful if you could inform me of the directions we
are to take via the quietest possible whisper. I assure you that I will hear
you. Colonel, as you are dressed as my personal guard, you should walk directly
behind me.
0o Mmm custodial. I would have assumed these robes to nice for a traditionally
undervalued class. These are too... soft... 0o
JAMES: Aye, Sir.
WESTON: ?
VALIS: One final note. I will be expected to be insufferably abrasive and
completely disrespectful to all of you, ::turning to the semi-Vulcan Engineer::
most especially you, Ensign. Please, take no offence I assure you I will find
doing so even more distasteful than you will. I sincerely apologize in advance.

JAMES: ::Nodding slightly:: Your apology, while not necessary, is noted, Sir. To
that end, is there any behaviour we should take note on. For instance, I am
given to understand 0o From period dramas 0o that there is a certain... banter
among the underclasses. Does that exist in this society as well? Should I be
seen to be making a derisive comments of you to some classes as you will of me?
WHALE: Mister James, you have my permission to make as many derisive comments
about Commander Valis as you deem necessary.  In the name of maintaining cover,
of course.
:: James raised his eyebrow at this, is there some kind of conflict between
those two? What had he got himself into... ::
WESTON/VALIS: ?
:: Whale pointed them to move on and it wasn’t long before they ran into a
local.  Probably a technician of some sort. ::
TECHNICIAN: Sir, what are you... I mean, Sir I think you need to announce your
visitation at the...
VALIS: I have no need to announce my visitations, Technician. I am Kishtana,
third Duchess of Kanishtikstan, daughter of the royal household, holder of the
lids to the rumpots of Falligrey!
0o I wonder if the Commander has ever considered acting. I imagine she would
make a very good Lady Catherine de Bourgh... 0o
TECHNICIAN: Sir, with all due respect, I have not heard of a Duchess of
Kanishtik...
VALIS: Of course you know who I am!! I would have my guard gut you where you
stand if you did not!
0o The poor man looks terrified! 0o
VALIS: Move now, or I will still do so!
TECHNICIAN: Yes Sir. Right away Sir
:: The technician scuttled away and the away team continued on their way. ::
DYAMONE: This went well, great performance, Commander. Hope everyone will be as
easy to fool. ::Turning to Weston.:: There's a lift shaft just 20 meters ahead,
but I can also confirm a group of Ishkarians there, maybe 4 or 5 of them, can't
say from this distance.
WHALE: Maybe drawing a little less attention to ourselves should be our new
plan, Commander.  After all, our disguises are entirely cosmetic.  We won’t
stand up to even the slightest scrutiny – finger prints, med scans, pretty
much anything other than eyeballs.
JAMES: If we can find some kind of computer terminal, it may be possible to
either find a less populated route, or to insert our own details into their
system.
WESTON/VALIS: ?
DYAMONE: ::She unfolded a side of her robe, showing tricorder and then waved
with the scanning piece in her hand.:: I have phaser, though Commander Whale may
not call it a weapon it's still a phaser. ::Wanda showed her Type I.:: though I
would rather avoid any confrontation.
WHALE: Oh it’s still a phaser.  Just like a chihuahua is still a dog.  ::
pause ::  Okay, let’s keep moving.  I don’t want to stay in one place too
long.  Also, this armour is uncomfortable, so the sooner we can go home, the
better.
JAMES: Really? This uniform is surprisingly comfortable... :: James trailed off,
realising that he said that out loud. ::
WESTON/VALIS/DYAMONE: ?
WHALE: Let’s just try to make our way to our target as quickly and as
inconspicuously as possible...
:: The countdown in his peripheral vision clicked to 53:31. ::
WHALE: We’re on the clock.
JAMES: :: Noticing the time. :: Hopefully, it will be enough.
WESTON/VALIS/DYAMONE: ?
:: James walked forward, with his eyes fixed to the ground, very much the image
of a dejected underclass. Then for the second time that day, James entered one
of his hates - this time a crowd. ::
0o Could this day get any worse... 0o
WHALE: Looks like for now we’ll be okay.
JAMES: ::Under his breath:: Define okay...
WESTON/VALIS/DYAMONE: ?
WHALE: According to the schematics, all the turbolifts – or whatever they call
them here – are located at the centre of the facility.  We’ll head there and
hope we can get to the lower levels without any complications.
