Examination of certain casualties that were recovered from various battles with both groups revealed that while they both do originate from the same source they have slowly evolved slight biological differences that set them apart as a completely different species.  Klingon Ambassador [[mb:Kage|Kage]] considered the Tzenketh capable of building metaweapons as early as 2311, also demonstrating that the Coalition was known to the Klingons and the Federation by at least this date.
