Hannibal was born to two loving parents on Earth, his sister following four years later. Hannibal grew bigger and stronger than most children, and he had an aggressive streak which never ceased to get him into trouble. He consistently could outmuscle, outrun, and outfight just about anyone...generating whispers that somehow Hannibal Parker had been genetically enhanced which reverberated through Starfleet. Such talk enraged Hannibals' father and distressed his mother...so much so that Hannibal was examined by Admiral Leonard McCoy at Starfleet Medical, who, after examining Hannibal, told his father that Hannibal was the fortunate combination of genes and DNA. He also found that Hannibals' adrenal gland was bigger than most, which accounted for the freakish strength, size and aggressiveness. With that information in hand, Hannibals' father, Ryland, began to teach his son to be a warrior, just as he had been. The lessons started young, and by the time he was fifteen, Hannibal was a double black belt in karate and had mastered other forms of martial arts. Hannibals' first brush with death came at the hands of the Romulans, when the USS Sitak was ambushed near the Neutral Zone. Hannibal saw his uncle dissappear through a hull breach as the Romulans attacked the Sitak, and Hannibal was far enough away to have an emergency force field snap in place before he was also lost. They managed to fight off the Romulans, but it left Hannibal with an extreme distaste for them. | |||
His schooling mostly took place on starships, but during the Cardassian War, he was on Earth at the family home, wishing he could be with his father. His mother had recently taken command of the USS Shirlkahr, and he and his sister were left in the care of an Al- Aluran woman with the name of Naloor. She looked after them both while their parents were away during the war. Hannibal was proving to be a handful while his parents were away, mostly because Hannibal did not take to teasing well...comments about being an augment set him off easily, and he spent more time in detention for fighting than he did in a classroom. | |||
