If it were physically possible, Alpha Quadrant residents would say the Korri were related to the Ferengi. While their physiologies are very different and incompatible, their philosophies about business and financial gain are remarkably similar.

The Korri evolved from amphibians on their oceanic world of Beta Korrilae, located in the Par'tha Expanse. Their moist skin is a mottled blue-grey color, though light-to-dark variations exist. While their auditory and olfactory senses are underdeveloped, they have excellent vision and can even see to a limited degree in wavelengths not normally visible to most humanoids. Their "ears" are nothing more than a double-layered membrane under their skin that vibrates over their auditory canals. Korri have no "noses." Instead, catfish-like whiskers pick up airborne chemicals, which their brains interpret as "smells." One advantage the Korri do posses is a limited psionic ability. Although this is primarily used as an extra sense to gain awareness of their surroundings, most Korri have developed their abilities enough to give them an edge in their business dealings.

Even though Korri eyesight is exceptional, their fashion tends to drab, monochromatic one-piece body suits. Their webbed hands have only three fingers plus a thumb, and a stubby vestigial tail protrudes from the small of the back.

While Ferengi could be considered the "corrupt businessmen" of the Alpha Quadrant, the Korri would be better described as unscrupulous "street vendors," "back alley salesmen" or "circus sideshow callers" who know the value of what they're selling, but tell you it is ten times more. Little is known about Korri politics. Their large starships are best described as "flying bazaars" (filled mostly with junk). They have few to no offensive capabilities, and Korri technology has an upper limit of warp 3.
