After achieving interstellar flight in the 2060s, a faction of Ktarians would leave their homeworld to colonize their uninhabited sister planet.

Ktaria VII is covered by spectacular glaciers, which make the planet popular throughout the Federation as a holiday Ski resort - however, it is is not an entirely glacial world, as the indigenous people are quite comfortable visiting warmer climes, such as those on the pleasure planet Risa.
