Reni Marja Svalasdottir was born and raised in Stockholm, former capital of the old earth nation Sweden. Born to her two mothers Stina and Elionore through artificial insemination she is their second child through the same means. Reni grew up quite happily with her older brother Jan with whom she has a very close relationship, apart from being siblings they really are the best of friends. Their mothers’ both work at the Central Bureau of Penology, Stina as a counsellor and Eleonore as an administrator, her brother Jan is following in Stinas footsteps and has a civilian major in psychology. But Reni made it crystal clear already at age six that she will follow in her grandfather’s steps and “become a Starfleet!”.

Reni years through Starfleet Academy are pretty much a book example. If you were to ask her closest academy friends most would say that she was almost boringly adherent to her studies but if you managed to tear her away from the pads and simulations she was a good friend, with empathic ears and a certain way to bring out the good in people, or even the bad parts if that were called for; there are notes of mischief making in her academy profile.

The same friend would also say that all the studying Reni did, all those extra hours and exhausting nights which earned her a major in Intelligence and Operations, as well as minors in Counselling and Helm/Navigation, she never did for anyone else, or to prove anything. She did it because she wanted the best chance for her to live the adventure and most importantly to see what is beyond the curtain that every power, species and organisation put on. To see that naked truth, be it beautiful or ugly.
