The Vanoben are a spacefaring species.
Prior to 2379, several Vanoben had settled on Tiburon, sometime after the Suliban. The Tiburons themselves did not mix with the Vanoben settlers. (TTNnovel: The Red King)
In 2369, a Vanoben transport was raided near Deep Space 9 and the Vanoben had several valuable items taken from them. It was believed the Miradorn privateers Ah-Kel and Ro-Kel were responsbible. (DS9 episode: "Vortex")
The otherwise nondescript home of a transport ship raided only two light years from Deep Space 9, when an artifact similar to one being offered by the Miradorn twins was stolen in 2369.
