Azura takes a degree of fascination in inspecting the life of the man she swapped places with, but she sometimes finds it overwhelming to empathize with the pain she knows he carries with him. She wonders how he's adjusting to stepping into her life. At present, there are no known means of communication with Lazarus.

{{Heading|Sheng Emitter|Blue}}Following her arrival at in this universe, Azura struggled to acclimate and became increasingly emotional. During [[The Sincerest Form (Constitution)|The Sincerest Form]], when Iotian separatists decided to try and recreate the NCC 1701 Enterprise and pose as her famous crew, Azura brutally attacked an Iotian that had attempted to murder several people with an Earth-style Tommy Gun. Following the attack, she was recalled to Daystrom Institute for study. Due to her arrival from a different quantum universe, the matter that comprised her body existed in a different quantum resonance than the matter in the prime universe. This disrupted low-level processes in her nervous system. The effects of the disruption caused her to become unpredictable and violent.

Following several months of testing and research, a team of researchers led by a Dr. Sheng created a mobile emitter for her to wear that effectively recalibrated her quantum resonance to be compatible with the prime universe. Azura does not fully understand the nuances of the science, but understands that it emits low levels of exotic radiation throughout her body. This does make her easier to pick up on sensors, but the exotic radiation is not part of any known standard sensor protocols.

Without the emitter, the beneficial effects wear off over the course of hours, and Azura should be able to maintain emotional regulation for "a few days" without the emitter. However, she quickly feels sick from the lack of the emitter and suffers headaches, nausea, and dizziness.

She wears the emitter on her left shoulder, and it is a small, metallic device. It bears a vague resemblance to the mobile emitter worn by The Doctor aboard the USS Voyager.{{Heading|Service History|Blue}}
