+Coznesster was born to a teacher mother and a mechanic father.  His father and uncle owned a maintenance shop and the pair spent as much time tinkering as they did servicing freighters, shuttlecraft and small personal vessels.   Coz joined them often in these tinkering's and would have taken over the business had he not met T'Karin while attending University.  T'Karin's family was both wealthy and influential and the pairing rocketed Coz to a much higher status than he would have been expected on his own.  In the ensuing years, Coz joined the faculty at Kaminar's central university.  His wife's families influence ultimately allowed him to ascend to the level of Dean at the Engineering school.  During his tenure he worked on the Soliton wave project as well as reworking Federation warp engines to protect subspace.  He also father two children who were far more interested in their mother's wealth and status than his tinkering.  After a long evening at the University Coz returned home to find his wife with another man.  T'Karin's family moved quickly to insulate her from the scandal and Coz soon found himself without a home.  His children too broke contact.  Frustrated by the influence of his in-laws on Kaminar, Coz joined Starfleet with the hope of leaving his homeworld and using his skills to benefit the Starfleet Engineering Corp.
