Garlone 301, as with all Hermat children, developed at a faster rate than the human equivalent (explaining the young age to be involved in Starfleet). Hish favourite pastime (read, way of getting hirself into trouble) was taking things apart and putting them back together. Of course, it wasn't just putting them back together so that they worked in the same -way-, oh no. Garlone would take a medical tricorder and a toaster apart, putting them back together to create a toaster that would scan whomever had turned it on and by subtly adjusting the heat would burn a pattern of their particular DNA with all the bases properly labelled. | |||
S/he realised after a while that hish particular talents with engineering were going unappreciated on the world, and so set off for Starfleet Academy to learn more about such pursuits. And to find more equipment to take apart. Which s/he did with reckless abandon, merging engines with replicators, injectors with music players, and holodecks with... well, lets just say that was an event that went down in the Academy history and subsequently got Garlone banned from all the holodecks for three months. Still, s/he aced engineering, hish skill with a universal persuasion tool unmatched by anyone else that year.
