Molko was raised on Ramatis until he was ten-years old. His father, Commodore Albog Trevinien, a decorated Starfleet officer and war hero made famous for his role with the 8th Fleet in the First Battle of Chin'toka, was often away from home for long periods of time, so his childcare fell mostly to his mother. Doctor Jenavi Ostra, herself renowned in the field of AI research and development, often included him in projects and chose to homeschool Molko around her interests and schedule. He rarely interacted with children his own age, spending most of his time in the company of adults - the intellectuals, scientists and engineers this his mother called her peers. As such, although he received a better education than most in STEM subjects, his lack of general and cultural knowledge can be a source of embarrassment for Molko. He is especially bad at 'small talk' and sometimes fails to grasp social niceties, so has learnt to be quiet, polite and use few words. Taken altogether, these early-life experiences have left him with difficulties in forming close personal relationships.

When, in 2382, his father was reassigned to Starbase 157 near the Romulan and Klingon borders, the whole family accompanied him. Here, encouraged by his mother and some of the engineers on the starbase, Molko began his life long passion in design and engineering. Molko finds great tranquillity in the creation and contemplation of machines and artificial life.
Molko had a happy childhood on Ramatis, moving with his parents off-world to live on a starbase when he was 11.
 
His father is decorated war-hero who led parts of the 8th Fleet during the First Battle of Chin’toka. His mother is an AI specialist working in the private sector.


Since a young age, Molko has been fascinated by technology, spending much of his free time tinkering and building his own machines. His second passion is space exploration, obviously influenced by his father.
With the aid of tutors drawn from among his mother's colleagues, Molko completed his Federation Certificate of Education to enable him to apply to Starfleet.  


After finishing formal education at 18, Molko decided to take two years to volunteer with the Federation Relief Agency, traveling the Beta quadrant giving technological aid to poor or isolated colonies and planets along the Federation’s periphery.
Living on the Starbase 157 brought him into contact with many refugees and colonists from the border worlds. He developed a distinct distaste for sapient suffering and decided to postpone his entry to the Academy in order to volunteer with the Federation Relief Agency. He travelled the periphery of the Beta Quadrant giving technological aid to endangered or isolated colonies and planets.

Aside from maths, for which he seems to have remarkable intuition, Molko is no academic, having had to struggle to maintain his grades throughout his Academy career. He is, however, a gifted engineer with high dexterity and an eye for detail.
