|As cadets, Madison and Gila took several science courses together during their time at Starfleet Academy. Their relationship evolved throughout their time at Starfleet Medical Academy and they formed a close friendship. These days they often communicate on subspace considering Madison was assigned to Starbase 118 Operations and the USS Narendra while Gila joined the crew of the USS Artemis. They still talk, provide feedback, and offer constructive criticism on their latest research projects.

|Alix and Madison were both standout High School Basketball players playing at rival Texas and Nevada schools on Earth. In addition, they faced off against one another during the galactic events involving the Terran and Centauran junior women's basketball teams. Eventually the they became teammates on the Starfleet Academy Women's College Basketball Team. Alix's primary position was at Shooting Guard and Madison played at Point Guard. The two of them made up an excellent backcourt tandem for four years. Over their time being teammates  together they both gradually became close friends and later on colleagues in the field of medicine. Despite being posted to different assignments, the two of them still regularly keep in touch via subspace.
