On Stardate 239811, the Arrow was assigned to a routine survey mission of the Chi Ceti system, when anomalous solar gases fry the Arrow's EPS grid, forcing a systems shutdown to prevent the Arrow from exploding. All hands are forced to evacuate. Ar'Gorvalei evacuated in a shuttlecraft, which crashed on the dark side of a Class M world with a long rotational period. Helping his injured crewmates to a nearby base camp, Ar'Gorvalei and First Officer Maz Rodan found their injuries to have been contaminated with a strange fungal infection, which was slowly spreading. Ar'Gorvalei nearly died attempting to find a cure, but was saved by the planet itself, using the corpse of a cadet killed in an escape pod crash. | |||
On Stardate 239902, The Arrow came to the aid of the planet Mercia IV, which was about to come under attack by the Sheliak Corporate, which was planning to use a banned metagenic virus weapon to destroy all life on the planet. Ar'Gorvalei and Jacin Ayemet developed a genetic code to neutralize the metagenic virus. An infiltration team led by Captain Shayne boarded the Sheliak vessel and introducing the neutralizing genetic material, but not before becoming infected with a "stealth virus" spawned by the metagenic virus's demise. Returning to the Arrow, Ar'Gorvalei worked to find a cure for the stealth virus, but not before succumbing to the illness. The Arrow, having badly damaged the Sheliak ship, negotiated its safe departure from the system in exchange for data which led to a cure. | |||
During a test of the new Proteus detachable slipstream drive on Stardate 239906, the Arrow was sabotaged and flung outside the galaxy, while its captain and intelligence officer were kidnapped. The experience somehow wiped out Ar'Gorvalei's directional sense, the sense by which Efrosians are able to navigate their surroundings, even without sight. Despite being unable to find his way around, Ar'Gorvalei accompanied an Away Team onto a mysterious Way Station, through which the Arrow was able to return home and retrieve its missing officers. | |||
