The Science Division on Denali station is currently home to a cadre of 16 officers and 50 enlisted personal. This core of permanent staff, made up of those that served on the USS Juneau, are initially tasked with setting up the required science facilities.

To capitalize on the opportunities for research and scientific discovery on Ring 42, Starfleet has plans for a myriad of research projects, and intends to bring in additional personnel to oversee them. These extra science staff will triple the size of the department, but they will only be temporarily assigned to Denali Station, leaving once their project is completed. This will result in a frequent rotation of faces within the department, with personnel coming and going as some projects end and others begin.
