Paul always thought kindly of Captain Turner and despite their disparity in rank and experience, he always considered the Captain his friend. Over time Paul ended up at the Embassy and got reacquainted with the Captain, she was at his wedding and both he and his new wife asked the Captain to be their childrens Godmother, when they found out that Alexandria was pregnant. Captain Turner agreed and so then Captain Turner became part of the Sharpe/Somers extended family after a fashion.
