Background
Member of the RSE, trained engineer in the Romulan Navy. Rose to the rank of Centurion, but roughly around 2389, when her ships were destroyed as a result of a Klingon attack, was forced to flee into Federation space. While the area she was in eventually stabilized to the Romulan Free State, she realized she would not be able to return there due to internal political pressures, and joined Starfleet, as it was heavily expanding to deal with the resulting fallout of both the Klingon attacks and other crisis's that were occurring on the border.
Personality
Zhalea is quiet, and not one for ebullience. While she has personally bounced back from the destruction of Romulus, it was not without cost, and she has found it difficult in some ways to deal with the prejudice against Romulans in Starfleet. As a Starfleet officer, however, she strives to emulate the great commanders of her youth, to mentor others, and to always move forward. Still harbors a mistrust of the Klingon Empire.
