XB3 ("Ioosia") is a Class O planet in a relatively unknown part of the Ithassa Region. The surface is approximately 87% water. Discovered by the USS Crick in the late 2360's, a runabout was dispatched in 2370 by Deep Space 17 to set up a cultural observation post. The purpose of the intended post was to observe the indigenous Ioosi, but the runabout crashed upon arrival.
The distress call from the crashed runabout was not recieved until 2385, when the USS Tiger was dispatched to investigate.
