Family and Friends Name Status Description Francis Pierce Grandfather Francis Pierce was a human administrator who worked at one of the large dockyards on Luna. Though Vincent never new his grandfather, his mother, Olivia, spoke of Francis often. He was a hard working man who enjoyed music most of all. He was known to come home from a long day at work to relax in a large, comfortable chair, with classical music playing. Francis was said to be a kind, gentle soul, but one who was firm and strict when the situation called for it. He was killed in a shuttle accident with his wife, Margarita, on stardate 236407.9. File:Alive Krige.jpg Margarita Craig Pierce Grandmother Margarita had been married to her husband, Francis Pierce, for 22 years until the time of her death. She was regarded as a very nice woman who was always there for Olivia, Pierce's mother, whenever she was needed. Olivia Pierce Mother Vincent's mother was a woman by the name Olivia Pierce, who was born on stardate 234805.13 in New Berlin, on the Lunar Colonies, to Francis Pierce and Margarita Craig Pierce. Her father was an adminstrator for one of the large dockyards on Luna station and her mother was the mayor of New Berlin. Ever since she was young, Olivia had had a keen interest in music, mostly fueled by her father, who played music at every opportunity. This love of music led to her learning the Cello and, eventually, enroling in an esteemed music program at a university on Vegra IV. Just a year into the program, when she was 17 years old, Olivia became pregnant. Her pregnancy meant that she could no longer continue her studies, so she dropped out of school. Her parents, who left on the first flight to Vegra IV upon hearing the news, were killed in a shuttle accident and, as if that wasn't enough, the man who impregnated her, left her. Olivia noticed an advertisement for a newly formed colony on the moon Rygel VII and, having no family, no education, and no partner with whom to raise her child, Olivia embarked for a new life on the frontier worlds. Pierce had a very special relationship with his mother, since there weren't many people on the planet, the two of them spent much time together. Pierce was devastated upon her death and one of his goals in life is to exact vengence on the people responsible. Unknown Father Vincent never knew his father, as the man fled from Pierce's mother before he was born. He hopes to someday meet his father and confront him about what he did.

Personal History

Vincent Pierce was born on the planet Rygel VII on the outer edges of Federation space, colloquially known as the "Frontier Worlds". Pierce was raised by his single mother on a small farm where they lived happily for many years. The life was hard but it was the kind of work that Pierce enjoyed.

When Pierce was around 15 years old, he had expressed an interest in joining Starfleet. His mother was abhorrent to this idea, as she thought that Starfleet was for people who had "nothing else to do with their lives". She felt that working on the farm would be of greater importance than, as she put it, frolicking around the galaxy fixing other peoples' problems.

As Pierce's farm was located right on a large lake, one of Pierce's favourite past times was to take out a canoe and camp on one of the small islands for a few days. In 2383 an Orion raiding party struck his home planet and abducted many of the young people whom he had grown up with, however, his mother was deemed "unsuitable" and was murdered. Pierce returned from one of his canoeing trips and was shocked by what he saw.

Pierce hitched a ride on a passing freighter, where he spent the next few years as a drifter, getting jobs where he could. He eventually fell in with the wrong crowd, which landed him in prison.

After his time in prison, Pierce decided that he would join Starfleet in order to gain some direction in his life.

Starfleet Career

Pierce moved to Earth in late 2385 where he prepared for his entrance exam into Starfleet Academy. For a year he studied and trained but all that preparation didn't pay off, as he failed his entrance tests into the Academy. This only strengthened his resolve and he studied twice as hard as before, successfully gaining entrance into the Academy in 2386
