Articles for deletion

I've added the delete template to 3 pages, 2 of them are part of my characters pages as I'm restructuring it and the other is one of the pages which I moved yesterday which you missed when you deleted the rest of the old Challenger NPC pages. Intra-page linking

Admiral, I know it's possible to link to an outside web page, and it's possible to link to an internal wiki page, AND it's possible to link to an item/article within a wiki page by using the page name, a "#" and the article name. BUT, is it possible to link to a separate item on the same page (like further down the page, or to eliminate "see above" type stuff)? Varaan 23:06, 1 July 2006 (CDT)

Okay. Say you've got a long page and in a paragraph you're writing you like to reference something that you're going to cover in it's own entry later on in the same page. If it was on another page you could link to it using [[Page Name#Article Name]]. Re:Vulcans on Memory-Alpha

My only concern was that it would be visible enough for people to not get confused as to where to go for canon info. If it's small and off to the side...they might miss it. Though I guess the links in the text could help too. Some of those links (though they all say "Memory Alpha") actually link to different pages on MA depending on the topic my page is covering, though. New Races

Hello. I changed those races to reflect the following categories like you asked me to. While I did add a couple of them to the FTU listing, most of them were already their but with no information. I just tried to flesh them out into useable races with a description and a few details.

• Category:Non-Reviewed Species
• Category:Non-Canon Species
• What about races listed in any of the Star Trek novels. How should they be added to the Wikki list for races.
• I just read the description of the Non-Canon Species - As I understand that includes all races listed in novels.
• Also I have been doing some work at adding a few things to a few locations on the Wikki. These being the USS Triumphant Master Crew List, DS17 station layout, FTU member races. I have been doing these additions with the hopes that they will add to the playability of the site and be useful to others. Was I in error to do this??

Archiving?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this-

Some of the very old AOL chat sims I did manage to save are on 3.5 or 5.25 discs (those that have survived through the many moves) that I don't have a drive for anymore :oP, but it was in reference to Egroups, since we were there before Yahoo took it over. *chuckles* I have some of our first stuff... not all of it (that computer bit it when we went to Egroups).

Any case, I don't know if you saved the posts from the mid 90s in our transition from chat to Egroups (prior to it becoming YGroups), but if you did, while it may be somewhat of a slow process, we could repost the older sim posts into a archival only YGroups. Intrepid class schematics

I'm not sure what I'm thinking, but I understand what Canreb is after. There's approximately 15 articles on different ship areas on the Intrepid Class, which is why I'm leaning toward something in the neighborhood of an Intrepid-Class schematics nav panel so the Eagle's ship nav template doesn't have to carry all that. Boiler plates

On Wikipedia, there's a way of making templates which hide sections, e.g. wp:Template:Template group, wp:Wikipedia:NavFrame. Would it be possible to do such with this wiki with a view to combining all the fleet boilers (Template:118Fleet, Template:118FleetTrain, Template:118LoD, Template:118Inactive & any reworking of Template:118Attached) into one, such that you could open whichever bit you like and not have to go to the ship histories page to get to a ship which isn't in the same category? OOC Note template.

I'd suggest using a system similar to the reference system on wikipedia but the code can be messy for those not familiar with it. Um... any reason indented italic won't suffice for now? We could make the note a sub page linked to by the text but that would require a seperate window open to view the main text at the same time. I've had no luck with my attempts to hide text before, I tried with Template:118Attached. It's part of why that got overly messy. If I could work out how to hide things, all the ship nav footers would prob have been merged into one by now and we might have fixed the ToC/Nav Menu template glitch. - Lt. I've put the same gap in that there is on the current main page between the top box and the 3 below it. I tried to tinker with the coding for the FA box and the 2 below it but can't see how to ensure they'll line up. They seem to do so anyway to me, the one width discrepancy I can see is that the left of the top box is a pixel closer to the left of the page than the left of the other boxes. - Lt. Just tried to fix the title bars on the main page mock up. Not having much luck. I wound up almost completely rewriting the code for the bottom templates and made a mess of the page in the process. Just found partly by accident that sortable tables actually work on here (see sandbox) but still having issues with collapsible tables (see also here). In regards to which? My Par'tha stuff? If so, it's because I'm altering the nav templates that I had done originally and going with a newer one that should be a bit more easy to use, plus it auto adds the {{NC}} and a category. Tiger Deck Layout

Just got a question on the Tiger OOC list regarding phaser strength. I copied the weapon specs from the Phoenix-C, but it has an additional Type-X phaser to the specs on the class page, but the same total output. Intrepid info on Duty Post pages

From what I remember, I did the Conn and Ops pages right from the TNG Technical Manual (with slight modifications for location of the stations on the Intrepid class). Other than ditching the Intrepid pages (or making them REALLY short: "The conn is located front and center on the bridge. See the HCO Duty Post page for a description of their function and duties."), I don't see a way around duplicating the pages. HOWEVER for the good of the wiki ('cos I'm a team player) if it would make more sense to ditch the intrepid stuff and just have the duty post pages, I'm okay with that. -Varaan 10:25, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

Tiger layout again

The Bridge... Image:Tiger Bridge.PNG. Already shown this to the Captain, but wanted your opinion. I'm assuming the back left door would probably have led to a turbolift in the past or something, but deck plan mentions a conference room (in addition to the briefing rooms); might have been built in a refit so the corridor there. Yet to draw in the stairs (change to ramps to aid disabled access?) but the gaps for them to slot in are there. Oh, and I've removed that page title test from all 3 pages that it was on. Awards Clean Up

Admiral, I update the Challenger's Player Awards, three of them had Lt.Cmdr. Status when they recieved their awards so I changed those, and I also added Alex Swift's Pilot Sextant Award. And I changed the Marine ranks to the SF equivalents. Toni 06:46, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Award Correction

In cross-referencing the Awards listed with the actual Ceremony, I found a mistake in the Xalor Clan Xifilis Award. The list has Commander Sam Perkins listed with Lt. Jerry Reid, but according to the ceremony Lt. Satscher (Vojana Minerva Satscher) won the award. I wanted to check with you before I changed it.

Also the Staff Awards are not listed. Should they be added too? Toni 12:17, 24 October 2008 (EDT)
