Olisia-Mai’s parents were alive in the crowded times when the planet Gideon had a population of 500 billion people. After a disease was deliberately introduced by the Ambassador Hodin in 2268, Gideon’s population decreased to just 9 billion people. Her parents taught Olisia-Mai the value of life, and the importance of leaving a legacy.
At age 17 she began studying Xenobiology at Gideon Central University. She enjoyed her studies, but at the end found herself wanting to look after people rather than study them. She saw a Starfleet recruitment holo-poster at Gideon Central University, and decided to apply. To her surprise, she was accepted and moved to San Francisco, Earth to join Starfleet Academy.
Olisia-Mai is introverted and can be shy, likes to keep to herself and deliberately only has a few close friends. She always wears her long blonde hair in a plait over her right shoulder, and feels uncomfortable if it moves from there.
