Captain's Commendation Proposal
- APPROVED: The Captains Council has approved this ribbon for use in the fleet!
Captain's Commendation: Awarded to a person for exemplary service and honorable actions performed in the course of his/her duties not justifying the award of a Legion of Merit yet deemed worthy of formal recognition by his/her commanding officer.
Reasoning for this award: Numerous times, we have seen simmers show their characters performing outstanding acts and deeds during a mission or other critical situation yet whose actions may not quite fit within the more narrow contexts specified by the other service ribbons. The Captain's Commendation is a lower level and more generalized IC award COs can bestow upon those under their command as they see fit to properly recognize these actions.
Since this award is most likely to be given multiple times over the course of a character's career, it is especially important that it complement the stars as a simple background:
