Personality

Aimi is a friendly young woman, gentle and kind by nature. She smiles easily and has a cheerful demeanour, though she can slip into maudlin moods if left to dwell on her own thoughts for too long.

History

Aimi spent her early life aboard starships and outposts, her father a nurse serving in the ranks of Starfleet. The bright young girl was often a darling to the crews, and she loved meeting new people and exploring the different planets and places that they visited. That came to an end when the outpost they were stationed aboard came under attack, and her mother lost her life. Aimi was sent back to Trill to live with her grandparents, but she never quite forgot her life among the stars and dreamed about returning one day.

She never seriously considered applying to the Commission to become Joined; it was a way of life that didn't appeal to her. Instead, she devoted herself to her studies with a view to applying to Starfleet Academy. Her thinking was that if she changed her mind, she'd still have the education and grades that would allow her to pursue any career she wanted. When her father passed away in active duty, she wobbled over the choice for a while, not sure if she wanted to follow the career that had ultimately claimed the lives of both of her parents. In the end, after some careful thought and long discussions with her grandparents, she decided to follow her dreams and took the first steps into a Starfleet career of her own.
