TOSMA 239906.26
USS Excalibur
"The final award I will present today represents recognition in the dedication and behavior that goes into being a great simmer here in the 118 fleet. Its very description speaks of the additions to the storyline and the ability to develop a realistic character while maintaining the normal baseline standard for simming. While I commend this crew for their overall dedication and every amazing thing they bring to the table, I am only allowed to present one of these. This year, I am more than proud to present the TOSMA to the writer for Lieutenant Talos Dakora, Travis.

Thank you for your dedication. I look to the future and see you there. Congratulations!" Presented by Kali Nicholotti

Vega Award 239906.26
USS Excalibur
"Years ago when I started the Image Collective, there weren't many images running around the fleet. Things were kept mostly to stock images taken from Trek websites and perhaps the occasional paint shop pro picture. Today, thanks to the tireless work of so many fantastic photo and video manipulators, the image landscape has truly changed. We are lucky to have some of that talent right here aboard the Excalibur, where the modeling of the Excalibur has given us some very detailed, beautiful images of our character's home. What's more, they've been translated into video and we can see her in motion! That, along with his other projects makes Travis more than deserving of the Vega award. It is an honor to present this one specifically, given my history with images and the fleet, and I cannot wait to see what he does with his skills next!

Thank you for sharing your artistry and congratulations!" Presented by Kali Nicholotti

Black Cross 239906.30
USS Excalibur
It is an incredible pleasure to present this year's Black Cross to Travis (Lieutenant Talos Dakora). Writing a black collar isn't always the easiest or most straightforward thing to do, especially when there is much ambiguity and borderline dislike (IC of course) of the secretive duty post and those who serve in it. Travis has taken that challenge on, head first, and has absolutely shined in the process.

Dakora is far from the typical shadow-walker. Of all the intel officers I've written for or with, I must say that he brings more realistic ideas into his writing of the post than others, falling back on the character's marine career and the troubles of the Dominion War in a very honest and forthright manner. Travis has managed to work in the character's past into the present, write about interpersonal relationships and the aftermath of the various things he has experienced aboard, and in the process create a very real person that we all look forward to reading.

Beyond that, Travis has faced some uphill moments in his path to where he is today, but as a long-time member of the fleet, he is an asset and a credit to his ship and his fleet, where I hope to see him continue to grow. With a steady hand always willing to help, a creative mind that works to tie many pieces and bits that other players put out there while tossing out ideas of his own for everyone to use, and just enough humor to make us all smile, Travis has a bright future with us and I look forward to sharing many more missions with this particular spook.

Silver Palm 239112.31
USS Columbia
"When Tyler Kelly came to town, he kicked our energy level up a notch. Kelly’s writer has used action-packed and dramatic scenes, such as stymieing a villain’s plan by throwing a PADD across the room or engaging in hand-to-throat combat at a very tense moment, to bring our storylines to the next level. He engages with his fellow writers to write joint posts and leave tags for whomever needs them, and gives our sim a sense of realism by introducing artifacts such as a photo of his beaten character or the actual text of a security report. Beyond this, Kelly’s writer stays active on the forums, taking part in games as well as contributing to other threads. With each post, he pours his enthusiasm and energy into our group, and for that, Tyler Kelly is awarded the Silver Palm. Thank you, Tyler!"

Natasha Yar Pin 239201.01
USS Columbia
"The crew of USS Columbia has a knack for getting into trouble. Fortunately, Tyler Kelly has a knack for getting them back out. Kelly's writer always does so in spectacular fashion, breathing life into scenes and storylines while neglecting neither the development of his character nor the IC consequences of each action. Scenes of particular note include the violent jerk-reaction of destroying a PADD to prevent dangerous captives from going free as well as a struggle to the death in hand to hand combat. This year, Columbia faced tremendous threats from internal security breaches - arson, attempted assassinations, and hostile bridge takeovers among them. Each of these piled onto the heap of the security department's troubles, but Kelly gracefully -- and dramatically -- dispatched each. Kelly's actions always fit within and serve the overarching ship plot and the needs of other characters. Along the way, he gives the crew a sense of what is involved in the ship security, issuing security reports for our perusal and welcoming aboard new officers as he grants their security clearance. I am very proud to present Tyler Kelly with this year's Natasha Yar Pin."

Sheathed Sword 238912.22
Starbase 118 Ops
"While injuries come with the territory of Starfleet, those that warranted the Sheathed Sword were both close to me and nearly took the life of one of our best. Lieutenant Colt Daniels laid down his life for me, protecting the chain of command, during the assassination attempt on his Captain, and friend. It is because of that sacrifice that I award him with the Sheathed Sword."

Sisko Tactical Cross 238912.22
Starbase 118 Ops
"A good tactical officer knows that there is more to the job than pushing the ‘fire’ button. In a realm where research is often needed, tempered reactions required, and a cool, calm head must always exist, Lieutenant Colt Daniels never fails to deliver realistic, well-thought-out results, regardless of what he is presented with. Throughout this year, he’s gone from a brand new player to a seasoned veteran that the crew often looks to for direction in both the realm of traditional Tactical information, as well as the lesser-known and implied areas where these officers are found to be. He isn't afraid to throw ideas or situations out into the open, where his fellow officers can manipulate them as well, and he isn't one to ever back down from a challenge. This is readily apparent not only in his simming and work aboard Ops, where he’s made himself an integral member of the crew, but in the creation of the Tactical report he does for the Podcast team. He has been willing to step outside the bounds of Ops itself to reach out and connect with Tactical officers throughout the fleet to bring our Podcast listeners a report on the tactical readiness of their own ships, and of the StarBase 118 Fleet as a whole. Because of his intricate knowledge of the duty post, his ability to bring a new layer of realistic simming to his ship, and his willingness to go above and beyond the expectations set out for him, I take great pride in presenting him with this award."
