In fact this war is of such single minded severity that even the Falwen Collective have bypassed and tend to avoid their system, considering it to be not worth the trouble, effort or expenditure of resources that would be needed to pacify this species.

The very first record of them is from the USS Granville, a Starfleet science vessel assigned to explore the Shoals in 2184. They were originally observed from a distance and no contact was made at this time due to the viscous little 3 way war that was being fought on the planet, in its atmosphere and in the space around it.
 
 
There was no further contact with them until after the Federation had established a couple colonies within the Shoals. One of their warships arrived and established an orbit around [[Meridian]]. The initial contact was peaceful and an effort was made by the Fevalen to establish formal relations. This was disrupted when two more of their warships arrived and opened fire on it. The colonists remained neutral and did not get involved. As a result no formal agreements have ever been established with the Fevalen.

Their species have 3 major factions, each with their own political system and each faction controls one of the 3 major continental land masses as well as a number of smaller and larger islands. Technically the largest and strongest faction is controlled by a military dictatorship. The next largest by a religious hierarchy of extremists and zealots and the smallest one is controlled by a council of nobles.

This faction is controlled by a military dictatorship commanded by the Supreme and Glorious Commander of All and Everything. What makes this political force different than others like it is that every single individual over the age of 10 has a military rank of some kind and serves in one or another of the different military branches that make up their society. Kids from the age of 10 to 16 are considered to be recruits, undergoing training and classification.

This faction is controlled by a religious hierarchy of extremists and zealots commanded by the Virtuous, Divine and Everlasting Blinding Light of Truth made Mortal. What makes this political force different than others like it is that every single aspect of every single daily activity is controlled or governed by some form of spiritual rules of conduct.

This faction is controlled by a council of nobles, one that while it seems to be less rigid and controlling than the other two political forces on their world is actually just as powerful due to the fact that the nobles own each and every single member of their faction who is not a noble. They are on average between 5'9" and 6'2" tall with heavily muscled forms, a thick tough epidermis and weigh on average between 190 lbs and 280 lbs. Their skin is dark blue on the top of their heads, hands and feet and slowly fades to white on their torso. They have no transporter or replicator technology and many of their other sciences are also neglected as unimportant but anything that has to do with the military, offensive or defensive systems is on the same level as the Klingons and Tholians.

Frigates, destroyers, cruisers, heavy cruisers and battleships. A comprehensive examination based on the long distance observation of their military vessels in operation has lead to the conclusion that most of their warships of all size classes are basically equivalent in capabilities to those employed by the Klingons and Tholians.
