USS CONSTITUTION-B EN ROUTE TO BETREKA NEBULA — The USS Consitution-B attempts to solve the mystery of the USS Unity's disappearance.

After receiving several repairs as Starbase 11, the crew of the USS Consitution NCC-9012-B received a message that brought their shore leave to a halt. The message was from the USS Unity. Everyone in Starfleet and many Federation citizens were aware of the story of the Unity. She had been a Deep Space Research Ship, an Oberth Class on its virgin flight just a bit more than a hundred years ago. It had gone out to find new species, unknown worlds, phenomena and had become one itself as Starfleet had suddenly lost contact. The whole fleet back then had been utilized to find them, but to no avail. The search had been given up at some point, assuming it had crossed path with a hostile force and had been destroyed.

According to an anonymous communications officer, the message that the Unity sent was rather cryptic, if not creepy in itself. "... from the USS ... sure what happened... energy... I see... coming. ... not survive, no...g can be done... They... ing... they are coming... they are coming..."

The message was traced to the Betreka Nebula, so the newly repaired Constitution and its freshly promoted Capt. Jalana Rajel headed for the nebula to see if they could solve the mystery of the Unity's disappearance. The staff worked around the clock to research and prepare as much as possible before the Constitution's arrival, knowing that the message could have been altered some how. Needless to say, however, there is the hope that the Unity is still out there and that Starfleet's biggest mystery can finally be solved. What caused the Unity to disappear? What has brought it back in contact after all these years? There are no answers yet, but perhaps soon there will be...

"Perhaps we can find some closure to those families who never were able to know if their loved ones were out there. It isn't the same as bringing them home, but it is something," RAdml. John Agaive said in a statement to the FNS.

BETREKA NEBULA- USS Unity has been found! Shore leave was cut short for the crew of the USS Constitution NCC-9012-B after they received a distress call from appeared to be the long lost USS Unity. The Constitution traced the signal to the Betreka Nebula and set its own coordinates for the region. On the way to the Nebula, the crew was briefed and proceeded to prepare for their arrival. To everyone's surprise, the Constitution was able to locate what appeared to be the Unity inside the nebula.

Captain Jalana Rajel sent an away team over to the powerless ship to investigate further. The team was comprised of LtCmdr. T'Mar, LtCmdr. Sinda Essen, LtCmdr. Kalos Fiorr, LtJG. Jerome Milsap, Ens. Solaris McLaren, and SCPO Riyao. It has been reported that once aboard the Unity, the away team began hallucinating- some hearing voices and others seeing dark images. The cause of these hallucinations remain unknown at this time.

Unbeknownst to the away team, the Constitution dealt with its own problems. A strange gas was leaked onto at least two decks and power was lost on multiple decks as well. Several rescue and repair teams were sent out. Meanwhile, in Sickbay, the medical staff and a few unfortunate patients were attacked by an apparently malfunctioning Emergency Medical Hologram known as "Mark."

"It's like a curse. Or a hex--if you believe in that type of stuff. People seeing ghosts and hearing things. It's not right. It's just not right.." said Ens. Joey Peach.

Ghosts or not, the Constitution is far from solving the mystery of the disappearance of the Unity. In addition to figuring out what caused the Unity to disappear in the first place the crew must also determine who sent the distress call after all this time and why. Unfortunately, the longer the crew stays, the more questions they seem to have as well as problems. Perhaps the mysteries of the Unity will remain just that--mysteries. Or perhaps the Constitution crew will be able to answer the questions that so many have asked since the Unity disappeared so long ago...

Security Officer Dead after Investigating the USS Unity

Betreka Nebula- Crew mourns the loss of Senior Chief Petty Officer Riyao as they fight off mysterious entities.

The crew of the USS Constitution NCC-9012-B found themselves trapped in the Betreka Nebula by a subspace disturbance. They had made their way into the Nebula after receiving a distress call from the long lost USS Unity. Captain Rajel sent an away team over to the Unity once it was located, among which was SCPO Riyao. Riyao and the others were tasked with gathering information about the disappearance of the ship and her crew. Reports indicate that the away team encountered some type of unknown entity on the Unity. This entity absorbed energy and revealed itself in terrifying images, causing a fight or flight response in the victims. Shortly after arriving on the Unity, Riyao was the first and apparently only victim from the Consitution crew. The others managed to make their way back to the ship, but their conditions are currently unknown.

The Consitution's First Officer, LtCmdr. T'Mar, was also a member of the away team and had this to say about the incident: "It is always unfortunate to lose a member of your crew. Riyao is no exception. He served us well and with honor. I believe it is safe to say the crew will miss him. "

Unfortunately, getting back to the Constitution did not mean the end of the crew's troubles. The entity apparently caused problems on the Constitution as well. Through incredible engineering and surely a little creative thinking, however, the crew managed to find a way to minimize the subspace disturbance that was keeping them there. Fortunately, they also were able to find a way to prevent the entity from tagging along on their ship. Without doing so, the Constitution would not have been able to safely leave the nebula. As the crew works towards rest and recovery, let us all remember the loss of Riyao and think of his friends and family at this time.
