USS Scarborough was a Yorkshire-class transport ship operating in the Ithassa Region. In 2387 she was responsible for transporting the command crew from Deep Space 17 back to Earth after they were replaced at very short notice by the then crew of SB118 Operations, under classified orders from Starfleet Intelligence. On the day the Scarborough left DS17 the Vaadwaur launched their attack, known as the Second Battle of Eratis, and were successful in forcing Starfleet forces to retreat. The Scarborough was lost behind enemy lines for several days but was later located by the USS Wellington with the crew and passengers safe and sound.
