USS Gorkon

Introduction

The USS Gorkon is a Sovereign class starship, launched in 2392 under the command of then Captain Quinn Reynolds. Named for the famed Klingon chancellor who forged peace between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, the newest of the Sovereign line is intended to follow in his footsteps as a warrior, peacemaker and visionary.

Her primary theatre of operations is the Tyrellian Sector, where she leads and participates in Starfleet's continuing scientific, diplomatic and defence efforts. To support this effort, the Sovereign's usually modest VIP and scientific facilities have been upgraded to include additional configurable quarters, enhanced sensor arrays and a larger number of laboratories. Increased automation has resulted in a lower crew requirement, providing ample space for these expansions. Additionally, the Gorkon is equipped with a quantum slipstream device so that she can rapidly deploy to provide tactical support to the Federation vessels in the area.

Under the command of Vice Admiral Quinn Reynolds, the USS Gorkon strives to maintain peace in the region juxtaposed between the Romulan Star Empire, the newly formed Romulan Republic, the Klingon Empire and the Tyrellian Commonwealth.

The Dying of the Light Episode 24: Stardate 240103.21 - 240205.05 After their time on Depot 39, the crew of the USS Gorkon pursue Commodore Johnson with hopes to sabotage his meticulous plans, but alas are too late. Caught in the wake of his temporal device, they watch the universe change in front of their eyes into one conquered entirely by the Borg. The Federation is gone, and the Gorkon is the last bastion of a time which never happened. Shore Leave: The USS Gorkon and its crew make a triumphant return through a rift, marking the end to their Borg timeline "Year of Hell". They return to their homebase, the Tyrellian system, for repairs and some well deserved rest.
