The Braveheart is a medical ship, which can be called upon for any major medical crisis, or evacuation. Under the command of Commander Jan T'Yai (NPC) the Braveheart normally performs medical studies and/or research in the vicinity of StarBase 118 and the whole sector.

It is unusual for the Braveheart to be more than a few days away from the base at a given time, however occassionally the vessel will travel into neighbouring sectors when it is required for a given research project.

The Olympic-class in general are designed as mercy or science vessels, and as such are equipped only with defensive tactical systems. If the Braveheart is required to attend a crisis some distance away from StarBase 118, it is standard for an escort vessel to be sent too.

Mission to SQ313

On Stardate 238503.05, Fleet Captain Rocar Drawoh gave temporary command of the USS Braveheart to Dr. Julia Harden to mount a Search and Rescue Mission on the planet SQ313.
