“I will preserve the purity of life and my arts.”

Hippocrates

The USS Antares is a medical ship that can be called upon in any major medical crisis. Under the command of Lieutenant Commander Rachel Cassidy (NPC) the Antares normally performs medical studies and/or research around the Trinity Sector, ranging as far as Deep Space 17 in the Ithassa Region.

The Olympic-class starships are designed as mercy vessels, and as such are equipped only with defensive tactical systems. If the Antares is required to attend a crisis some distance away from its home base, it is standard for escort vessels to accompany it.
