Mission History & Logs

Doctor
Timothy Alentonis

Personal Log Stardate 239507.23

I have no idea what happened. I have no idea what I’m looking at. Heck, I barely understand how I just became a living fossil. When they said to return to field work, I didn’t think this was quite what they meant. And I’m an anxious wreck because I should be studying time, not travelling through it. It’ll probably make for one heck of a paper when we get home.

Lt. Commander
Timothy Alentonis

Operations Officer's Log, SD 239706.23

I’ve been placed on a team to recover some sort of device called a spore drive. This thing should allow us, or its users, to open a portal to other universes. I’m still unclear how exactly it’s supposed to work, but the point of us getting it is so we can send the alternate Blake home and we won’t need to use a gravity well of a dead star that will require shutting down multiple decks. Hopefully, the drive will be the better option.

End log.

Zeph, the writer behind Alentonis is one of our most experienced simmers, so it's not surprising that his writing has been a joy to read. Still, I have to say that out of all his characters, Alentonis is probably my favorite of his to date. From what began as just an NPC (and a civilian one at that), Zeph has sculpted a three-dimensional character with an interesting backstory and perspective because of his IC "non-traditional" route to Starfleet. Beyond Alentonis, Zeph brings that same care into showing more about the lives of his characters outside of missions across his other characters aboard Veritas, helping the ship feel more like a truly lived-in place. He is well-deserving of this recognition.
