Ensign Thalas th'Koro - Post-mission Report - USS Gorkon - Stardate 239511.15

On arrival on the Gorkon, I was put to sleep by a neurogenic field activated by a Trill known as Lladre. In the dreams, I was part of the Maquis (see here) on a ship known as the Skarbek. During these dreams, I became much more emotionally driven which often ended with violent consequences. I experienced many hallucinogenic experiences (such as strangling arm tentacles) in my dream state. On waking up, I found myself to be in a wrecked computer lab. From here the three of us Trellis Vondaryan and Samira Neathler got to work trying to find the cause of this disturbance. The hijackers of the USS Gorkon fled the ship before the awakening but they left behind a bomb designed to destroy the ship with all hands. Before it could explode, the bomb was beamed away from the ship.

Ensign Thalas th'Koro - Post-mission Report - USS Atlantis - Stardate 239707.17

Upon arriving back on the Atlantis after an LOA, I was thrown straight into a mission. The crew were tasked to being the Federation representatives to a trade conference on Illara Prime. The representatives at the conference included the likes of the Valcarians, Romulans, Caraadians, Ferengi and Illarans. Upon arriving on the planet, the crew were split into groups to investigate the security of the conference and to mingle with the representatives. The latter was part of my task and I was in a group with Captain Thoran and Serala tasked with contacting the Freeworlds Council member, Weisto. Immediately after this, the Captain found a note saying the Valcarians were sabotaging the conference, which ultimately proved to be the conference's downfall.

This was found to be true because after investigating a console. I found the phrase Klaretaen na nneikha ilaihr hhæmn imprinted into the computer's mainframe. This led to the idea of a virus being the cause of the conference's problems. A plan devised by Esa Kiax and implemented by her, Lephi, David Knight and myself was effectively able to destroy the virus. I was spotted by the Valcarian saboteurs. Therefore, I was knocked unconscious and kidnapped by these attackers. The Valcarian Rusin Nagaro tortured me by bringing back the memories of my mother's death. With no escape route on the horizon, I had resigned myself to death. However, an unknown player in the conference murdered Nagaro and freed me. Alongside this, the Captain was severely injured and required immediate surgery.

The conference was prematurely ended with all representatives being evacuated off the planet. The spy was not apprehended but there was no casualties at the hands of the Valcarians.

On a more personal note, this mission has effected me deeply and I can predict that I will be facing it's consequences for the foreseeable future. My past was not something I wanted to remember.

I have spent the majority of my shoreleave getting to know the various members of the Atlantis' now Chin'toka's crew. Whether it be enjoying an evening in the holodeck with Lt.JG Snow, a medical checkup with Lieutenant Commander Journs, a sparring session with Lieutenant Commander Rosek or a conversation about love with CPO Davis. Despite this period of familiarisation, I have still managed to find my way into conflict with the ship's second officer (Lieutenant Commander Raga) due to the mental trauma I suffered during the last mission which is still having some effects on me. The highlight of shore leave over Illara Prime was visiting the Terrariums on the planet with Lieutenant Commander Kiax. It was definitely worthwhile the visit.

The return to Earth to be reassigned to the new Chin'toka was a shock to the system. I have only just got to grips with the Atlantis. Nevertheless I took this opportunity to visit the Livraria Lello in Porto and have a generally fun time. The biggest shock of this shoreleave has certainly got to be my promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. I could not have predicted this a mile out and I am truly honoured to have been awarded this rank by Captain Thoran.

Here is to the future!

The crew were right to be wary of Tibro V and I can now join them in that sentiment. At first, I was incredibly apprehensive of the amount of defences we brought down to the surface but now I completely understand. Upon arrival on the surface of Tibro V we immediately set up a base camp and started to head towards the previously established Archaeology site. I took multiple pictures of the cathedral and caves for later reference. In traditional Chon fashion, the cave system was booby trapped and unfortunately Lieutenant Levinson stepped on a pressure plate which was linked to a Polaron beam. We could not defuse it so I took it upon myself to tackle her out of the way. Eventually, we found ourselves in a rudimentary transporter room which was accidentally activated. We found ourselves flung across the planet, where thankfully we were able to return the ship.

What I had previously expected to be a rather simple mission, turned into a complex scientific discovery. Whilst it was rewarding to discover more about the Chon society, it is clear to me that I will not return to Tibro V in a hurry.
