==History and Background== | |||
Hemi was born in a marae in Tauranga (New Zealand) and always had a simple life style, staying away from “technology” as much as they could. From his childhood he was taught of his cultural heritage, Maori religion and beliefs. | |||
Hemi started have more interest in the Starfleet when he moved to Auckland to study in a school ran by officers, part of the Penal Settlement the Federation had in the city. He went through tough times while studying, trying to adapt his family culture to the reality he was now living on. After graduating, Hemi started an internship at the Penal Settlement Facility. When he finally reached 21, he moved to San Francisco to join the Starfleet Academy. | |||
Hemi has a strong built from playing rugby since his childhood. Although his appearance he is extremely friendly and sometimes a kid at heart. He finds it hard to adapt to technology and it gave him some hard time during his first years at the Academy. | |||
