Backstory/Timeline
Tarik was born in the Raal region of Vulcan to Tyben, a Starfleet Science Officer, and T'Reen, a Vulcan healer and midwife. For much of his young life, his father was off-world and his mother was occupied with her duties, so his older brother Torin provided a quasi-parental role.
Growing up near the shores of the Voroth Sea instilled in Tarik an early interest in marine biology and later, exobiology. After pursuing this line of study for several years, he failed to distinguish himself as a scientist and grew weary of interminable research. In the hopes of a life where he could solve problems day-to-day, he decided Starfleet would better suit his disposition.
