So I've run across a question. In Star Trek Star Charts (by Geoffrey Mandel and published by Pocket Books), the Gorn Hegemony is in the Beta Quadrant (near the Klingons) while the Tholian Assembly, Tzenketh, and Cardassian Union are in the Alpha Quadrant. Anyone have an idea why it was changed for SB118? - EJVerde

Think that source is non-canon - Lt.JG SalakTalk 06:17, 3 January 2008 (CST)

I ran across that article myself when I was trying to pinpoint where Ithassa Region was on the galaxy maps, which confused the heck out of me. I finally came to the conclusion that Ithassa I believe is right down the line of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. DCody 02:44, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

Federation space does straddle both quadrants, so can probably get away with it Hutch 07:25, 5 July 2008 (EDT)

I've implemented the old nav bar layout (the one Wolf changed it from) for the Trinity Sector nav bar, so I certainly won't object to the Ithassa one changing back. Be careful of the length of the nav getting too long. - Lt. SalakUSS Independence-ATalk 09:37, 2 April 2008 (EDT)

Map is making the top of the page squished. Does it really need to be so high up on this page? It is linked from the nav. I's also like to list Chavesss Sector in brackets after Ithassa Region at the start of the article, get the alternaticve names covered, even if it isn't explained til later on. - Lt. I'd like to nominate this, but the map draws attention from the text. Either let's get a better image or fix this one? --Wolf /talk page 20:47, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

Have the beginnings of a total rewrite on my user area; User:Salak/Ithassa. It'd remove the map but is pictureless at the moment. - Lt. SalakUSS Independence-ATalk 20:54, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Let's wait until the re-write is finished, then. --Wolf /talk page 21:05, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Ah well, I didn't spot this until after I'd nominated it! I thought it was good enough to put forward now, but improvement is always a bonus. Hutch 08:01, 27 June 2008 (EDT)

Rewrite Notes

I've got at least another paragraph that hasn't been finished yet. With regards to the history of Starfleets exploration of the region, the dates were given in the old version, and the dates of the conflicts matched so I thought it would add weight to the "redeployment" info, and why Starfleet didn't return any sooner. Cardassian and Klingon Wars were not mentioned in the old version. The first reactivation of DS17 was not mentioned in the old version, but is mentioned on the DS17 page. I'm hoping this is a better structured version of what was here before, and that it provides a good insight into the Region's history and politics. Please flag up any errors :) - Lt. SalakUSS TigerTalk 09:45, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

Paragraph long since done, but the request for any errors to be flagged up stands. - Lt. SalakUSS TigerTalk 20:04, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
Not noticed any obvious contradictions, though the history stuff is a bit before my time. Hutch 07:20, 5 July 2008 (EDT)

This any good? Hutch 04:39, 8 July 2008 (EDT)

Oooo... seen those before but forgotten about them. I've been trying to collect ship pics and space scenes on Deviant Art, so this album might be worth a look too. One of the Pulsar pics in that album is the pic used for the Eratis page. - Lt. SalakUSS TigerTalk 06:09, 8 July 2008 (EDT)
I like 'Chimera'. Do we need an 'atmospheric' picture or a more techncal, steller cartography type affair? Hutch 17:39, 10 July 2008 (EDT)
Either really... just something that represents the nature of the Ithassa Region. Chimera might fit the bill, perhaps. I can't see many others in that collection that would be appropriate for an entire region, though maybe for systems within it. - Lt. SalakUSS TigerTalk 19:45, 10 July 2008 (EDT)
That's what I thought. Lots of pretty pictures of planets. Though to be fair a region as big as Ithassa is just going to look like a bunch of stars. Maybe stick to something iconic within the region? DS17 in orbit, or the Bull's Run? Hutch 04:55, 11 July 2008 (EDT)
The Eratis system is just a neutron star (though it's been described more like a pulsar), a load of asteroids and DS17. I've thought about trying to layer pics and a mesh together to show the system, but dunno how I could do the asteroids, and the closest mesh I can find to the station is that of the Regula One observatory in TWOK, which has a few major differences. Bulls Run might be easier, but my own view of the Ithassa region is prob a load of nebulae. But then most of my time has been spent in the Aurona Sector, Igloo Cluster or DS17. - Lt. Gorn Conflict

I was directing a Gorn player to the wiki to read up on the Gorn Conflict - but turns out there's not much on here! The link exists but hasn't been written, just a few bits and pieces on the Ithassa & DS17 pages. Any suggestions? Hutch 17:01, 12 August 2009 (EDT)
