Whilst this is in discussion, I'm going to clean it up and add more into this - mainly because it is an interesting idea and could be useful for those simming characters interested in this topic, and for those looking for the differences between them all - saves people from having to search Memory Alpha for it, I guess. :Scratch that. We may end up separating the headings into different pages (since it seems like it was incorrectly named). [[User:Sky Blake|Sky Blake]] ([[User talk:Sky Blake|talk]]) 04:30, 27 April 2014 (CDT)

::I guess my question is about the subject "matter" altogether. Is this canon? Apocrypha? Canon to Starbase 118? I see no reference to it on Memory Alpha or Memory Beta (maybe I just missed it?). If we don't have an original reference from a Starbase 118 source, how are we "fixing" it? I would hesitate to introduce new material that has not been introduced in character to fulfill a simming need. Looking for information on this page and why it exists. Page is uncategorized. Failing to find any information on it, I propose deletion. Ben Livingston (talk) 08:05, 26 April 2014 (CDT)

I'm under the impression that it was originally created to provide the difference between different matters (obviously). Whilst this is in discussion, I'm going to clean it up and add more into this - mainly because it is an interesting idea and could be useful for those simming characters interested in this topic, and for those looking for the differences between them all - saves people from having to search Memory Alpha for it, I guess. I guess my question is about the subject "matter" altogether. Ben Livingston (talk) 20:41, 27 April 2014 (CDT)

Created nor destroyed....

Umm, this isn't strictly true. Its energy that cannot be created nor destroyed, matter can be freely converted to and from energy. This tends to be a common misconception resulting from the law of Conservation of Mass (particularly in its application to Special Relativity) where mass tends to be linked (incorrectly) to Matter, not Energy. In reality, "Certain types of matter may be created or destroyed, but in all of these processes, the energy and mass associated with such matter remains unchanged in quantity (although type of energy associated with the matter may change form)." If you can fix it, I'd hug you. I kind of gave up last night after a lack of understanding the topic. You can tell that I'd never be able to sim a Science Officer, or an Engineer, successfully. :P Sky Blake (talk) 17:32, 27 April 2014 (CDT)
I'll add it to my to-do list :p I think with a name change, a little reorganizing and a few re-writes this could be a really useful page! Lt. Commander James (talk) 18:30, 27 April 2014 (CDT)
