Family

Azera
Mother

Azera is a scientist living on Cestus III in a self-imposed exile, where she raised Taelon largely in isolation, leaving him alone for months at a time even as a small child. Azera is a woman who puts her work above everything and everyone else, and while she worked hard to ensure he learned as much as possible under her care, that fact drove a wedge between them that him leaving didn't mend. The night he left was the last of many increasingly violent arguments between the two, and they've communicated very little ever since. Unknown to Taelon, she keeps a distant eye on him; he assumes she's all but forgotten about him.

Jakarn
Father

A popular holonovelist and producer, who contrasts his mother considerably by being friendly, gregarious and a bit overwhelming - but resembles her in how much time he's spent with his son. Taelon only got to know him recently, and didn't meet him in person til Taelon was in his late teens. Taelon's relationship with his father is on much better terms, albeit still distant due to his father's busy lifestyle. His generally energetic personality and regular checkups have ensured the two maintain a frequent correspondence, though the undercurrent of disappointment tarnishes even that.

Ishani Kasun
Half-Sister / Asst. Chief of Security (SB118 Ops)

One of Taelon's many, many half-siblings via his father, Taelon had no idea she existed until both of them ended up among the crew on Ops. Since meeting her nearly a year ago the two have developed a friendship of sorts, with Ishani taking on a somewhat protective role - pushing him to actually eat, to see the counselors, and so on. Taelon has great respect for her but is also a bit intimidated by her competence, age and tough personality.

Romantic / Friendly

Theo Whittaker
Friend / Romantic Interest / XO (SB118 Ops)

After the events of 'The Show Must Go On', Taelon admires Whittaker implicitly - after watching the man volunteer for torture to save the team, get repeatedly shot and beaten and still manage to lead the team to rescue, it's hard not to be loyal to the XO. After living on the station for near on a year, Taelon and Theo have a genuine - albeit awkward on Taelon's end - friendship that might be turning into something else.

So far Taelon isn't quite sure what to make of Theo asking him out; as someone inexperienced both in having friends and completely new to the concept of dating, Taelon doesn't quite understand what's going on between them.

Sal Taybrim
Commanding Officer / Captain (SB118 Ops)

Taelon had expected a Starfleet Captain to be severe, authoritative and stern. To say Sal Taybrim is quite the opposite is an understatement, and in his year at the Starbase Taelon's come to admire and respect the approachable man, even if he doesn't always understand Taybrim's decisions. Taybrim seems to see something in Taelon that the El-Aurian doesn't and a part of him wishes to live up to that expectation. He's grown very fond of Sal, though doesn't often express it directly.

Tatash
Crewmate / Marine Major (SB118 Ops)

Taelon greatly admires Major Tatash and was very happy to create the Major's cybernetic arm after the Gorn lost his in a fighter crash during the battle that destroyed the USS Albion. He finds the Gorn oddly placid for one of his species, but growing up on Cestus III has made the large alien seem quite mundane to Taelon. Besides, he's one of the few people taller than Taelon, and that definitely counts for something.

Aitas
Father's Protege / Chief of Intelligence (SB118 Ops)

Aitas was once enslaved by the Orion Syndicate, and as a small child she was bought and saved by Taelon's father, Jakarn. She too joined the Starbase; Taelon still wonders if his father had something to do with that, but the fact of the matter remains that he's friendly with the quiet woman and supportive of her, even if he's not entirely sure what to make of her.

Professional

Antero Flynn
Crewmate / Chief Flight Officer (SB118 Ops)

Serving alongside Flynn for his first major mission with the Starbase, Taelon finds him in the same category as Sal - admirable, competent, and just casual enough to make the border between commander and subordinate fuzzy. His relationship with Aitas warmed Taelon to him, though somewhat distantly; Taelon's still not sure he's into the parties Flynn is so famous for throwing.

Mirra Ezo
Crewmate / Chief Medical Officer (SB118 Ops)

Taelon respects their Doctor, but the two have some fundamental disagreements about what constitutes 'improving' someone. Still, he likes her quite a bit, and appreciates her friendship with Theo...even if they can't talk shop with her smacking him when he suggests replacing limbs.

Rustyy Hael
Crewmate / Chief Engineer (SB118 Ops)

Rustyy is weird, and Taelon often has no clue what the cheerful man's going on about. He finds working with the man easy enough, but spends much of their time wondering if it'd be rude to ask him to clarify his odd slang. And mannerisms.

Trel'lis
Crewmate / Chief Diplomat (SB118 Ops)

While he respects her abilities (and her aim with a phaser, which has saved his butt several times at this point) there's a part of Taelon that desperately wants try to understand her strange, machine-like psychology. Wisely, medical has not let him poke around when she's needed repairs.

Francis Ryan
Crewmate / Counselor (SB118 Ops)

Having only just met (and been shoved into sessions with) Counselor Ryan, Taelon's not had much time to take accord of the man - but his help during the takeover of the station was greatly appreciated and Taelon was impressed with the man's ability to jump into the action.

Arturo Maxwell
Crewmate / Tactical Officer (SB118 Ops)

Taelon hasn't had much chance to socialise with Maxwell, and with the man's violent actions during The Edge of Glory, Taelon's not sure what to make of him.
