Background
T'Syrik was born in 2373 to a human mother named Helena Bowen. Although T'Syrik originally had a human name at birth, they have never had a last name. Helena worked as a traveling merchant/trader and T'Syrik traveled from planet to planet with their mother until they were 16 years old. When they were 16, their mother passed away from illness. They moved to Vulcan where T'vohn, a friend of their mother, took them in to raise them. T'Syrik took their Vulcan name shortly after moving to the planet. Upon moving in with T'vohn, she informed T'Syrik that she does know who T'Syrik's father is and offered to put them in touch. T'vohn warned however that this would be against Helena's wishes. T'Syrik chose to honor their mother's wishes, and had no desire to locate their father. T'Syrik had already knew T'vohn and got along with her well, and saw the decision to stay with her as an easy and logical choice. T'Syrik enrolled in medical school as soon as they were old enough, with the intention of joining Starfleet so they would be able to travel again like they did growing up. They graduated from Starfleet Academy with their medical degree and a minor in psychology.
