Personal Achievements and Disappointments
After the death of her parents at the incident on Gamma Canaris N, T'Leiai underwent a profound change of character. Before the blast, she had been known as a shy and unambitious vulcan woman. After the incident, she dedicated herself to her goal of joining Starfleet and becoming a lead programmer at Starfleet Engineering. Service as an enlistee aboard a Starship is only an annoying distraction from that goal.

T'Leiai's parents both died in a mysterious explosion in their family home on Gamma Canaris N. (A Federation world near the Tholian Assembly, Berengaria, and Janus VI.) T'Leiai was initially thought to have died as well, but she miraculously survived the blast. Profoundly changed by the event, she boarded the first available transport to earth and never returned. She claims that the pursuit of logic has allowed her to process the loss of her parents.
T'Leiai joined Starfleet as an enlistee, proving to be remarkably bright despite her difficult personality.
