Angosian: Difference between revisions

They have an elected council that is divided into 5 branches with 5 councilors in each branch. Each branch of this government is responsible for a different aspect of their society. One of these is considered the senior councilor and sits on the central council. Each senior councilor is selected by the other members of his branch of the government.

While they do appear to be basically human they lack the nessessary hormones and enzimes needed for violent or aggressive behavior. Certain other basic physiological differences also make their chemical make up distinct and unique.

They are more concerned with the pursuits of the mind but this does not interfer with the finer arts. Poets, painters, sculpters and musicians all strive to create relaxing yet thought provoking concepts and creations.

They are completely self sufficent and have a strong economy with extensive off world trade.

Due to their pacifism in matters of fighting, they used mind control and biochemicals to create the ultimate fighting soldiers to win their [[ma:Tarsian War|Tarsian War]], which has subsequently passed. These [[Angosian War Veteran|veterans]] were treated to intense psychological conditioning and exotic biochemical alterations to make them nearly invincible. Peacetime, however, found the [[ma:Angosian|Angosians]] unable (or unwilling) to take the time to reverse the effects of these alterations. After several incidents involving these violent soldiers, the fearful Angosians voted to banish the soldiers to a penal colony on [[ma:Lunar V|Lunar V]], and so these veterans were imprisoned on an uninhabitable moon to separate them from the populace. Shortly before Stardate 43489.2, however, escapees broke free to take over the capital city, demanding they receive help to be able to return to their homes. The veterans don't attack unless provoked, but they are programmed to survive.
