During his year at terrestrial college, in between papers and homework, Quentin found himself drawn to nautical adventure fiction, like the Jack Aubrey books from author Patrick O'Brien and Forester's Horatio Hornblower. Fancying himself a sort of swashbuckling figure, he devoured the books and took about collecting them wherever he could, amassing a small collection of his favorites he will surely have in his quarters.

He also found himself drawn to pulp fiction and horror, which gave him more insights into his mother's world, but at a safer, more accessible distance as a lark. He never really played sports but does fancy pub games on occasion. He also harbors a healthy love and respect for Earth's electronic music movement of the 1970s through the mid 2000s. He will often be found relaxing with a data strip of his own design containing his "collection" of songs and headphones (usually with a book or PADD recreation of a comic book). He also is known to enjoy theatre of all species and cultures, the works of Michael Moorcock, and an ancient television show The Prisoner, which he is working on a holodeck recreation of it's main set to enjoy on his time off.

Quentin also here recently has allowed his crew and fellow peers to see his propensity for collection and fascination with vintage forms of physical media. Prompted by a care package from his brother David, Quentin has come back into possession of his "movie collection", a box full of data chips encoded with ancient teleplays called "films" or "movies". This was a source of great comfort to him and his brother as lads and he hopes it will be again as he shares it with the crew.
