Hal is the ship's counselor on the USS Eagle. He and Kayla met in a professional context, but during a shore leave at [[Lightside_Station|The Spike]], the two of them visited [[Lightside_Station/Cantina_Estrella|La Cantina Estrella]] where they shared a lovely evening of dinner, drinks, and dancing. At the end of the date (?), Kayla gave Hal a kiss on the cheek. | Hal is the ship's counselor on the USS Eagle. At the end of the date (?), Kayla gave Hal a kiss on the cheek. It's possible this was taken for more than intended: a friendly thanks for a fun evening.

Kayla and Maddi (sometimes "Mads") met while at the Academy. From their first meeting (a sparring match) to attending the only party Kayla went to at the Academy together, Maddi came to be one of Kayla's closest and most trusted friends. Her keep eye for security measures inspired Kayla to include Maddi in the small circle of people in on discussions of her ship design project. In short, Kayla trusts Maddi with her life. | Kayla and Maddi (sometimes "Mads") met while at the Academy. They managed to take off again from the surface, but didn't have enough to both trigger the necessary chroniton wave and attain a stable orbit. To further complicate matters, it seemed the whole moon was breaking up without the Heart. Kayla was knocked unconscious, but some quick thinking from Ensign Collins, some skilled flying by Ensign Waters, and expert marksmanship by Commander Pavlova solved several problems at once, and the day was saved. | They managed to take off again from the surface, but didn't have enough to both trigger the necessary chroniton wave and attain a stable orbit. |BLURB=The USS Eagle responds to a distress signal from a freighter carrying passengers.
After encountering a freighter carrying an unusual number of passengers, the Eagle was soon "greeted" by a number of probes from a nearby civilization known as "The People." Shortly after arriving at the People's homeworld, the Eagle was scanned and several crewmen including Commander Oddas were abducted due to some physiological abnormalities.
The People, it turned out, have a strict doctrine of purity that requires anything less than "pure and perfect" genetic material to be "recycled" and redistributed into the society as sustenance. This was the plan for the abducted Eagle crew. A rescue mission was mounted, resulting in the captives being released, and the recycling facility being destroyed.

|BLURB=During a test of the Warp XV drive, the Eagle finds itself in another universe, facing an unknown alien race in an unfamiliar setting | |||
Shortly after reaching a stable velocity of warp 11, the Eagle was pulled out of warp when the warp bubble was disrupted by a unexpected disturbance. Once out of warp, the ship was pulled by a gravitational well and forced to make an emergency landing on a strange mass which was later discovered to be a sacred Shrine of the individuals inhabiting this "Layer" - either a pocket universe or a whole separate universe the Eagle had fallen into.
Eventually, the Eagle was able to break free of the Shrine's pull be resorting to primitive improvised propulsion means, and they opened up a line of communication with the Cam'roon - the alien vessel - in order to determine not only how to return the Eagle to its proper universe, but also how to prevent further incursions into this Layer.
