Sky Blake: Difference between revisions

Blake is of a calm and collected temperament, receptive to criticism, and is a cool-headed thinker unwilling to take unnecessary risks. She prefers working ''with'' her staff, rather than having them work ''for'' her, and relies on her crew mates counsel for most matters - despite having served in the Shoals for longer than many of her fellow senior staff, she is actually the least experienced officer of the group, due to a case of retrograde amnesia. Because of this, she will ask questions and press for more information when she feels she does not have all the answers she requires - but she never does this guns-blazing.  

Blake feels that her duty is to the crew and the ship - though she may feel comfortable with aspects outside of the Starfleet realm that her fellow crew disagree with, she will choose to side with her shipmates and work with them. An example of this can be seen when she decidedly overrules a suggestion by [[Jhalib Ekal]] to isolate the ''Veritas'' flight recorder in case of sabotage (a suggestion of which she agreed with), and opts to employ [[Wil Ukinix]]'s prioritizing of engineering resources instead - she will even go out of her way to ensure that she and her crew are on the same page about such matters.  

She surrounds herself deliberately with colour, having subscribed rather heavily into Ornaran colour psychology, and is considerably bright and charismatic when faced with relaxed social settings that don't involve her Starfleet uniform. Blake is occasionally referred to the 'doom and gloom' character by her fellow crew, and has been heard verbalizing worst case scenarios sometimes to a point of fault - though she is not without positivity.  

It is evident that Blake takes her job and learned mannerisms within the Shoals seriously, as she thoroughly believes in the rules of engagement set for the area - repeated offenses by [[Starfleet]] vessels entering the Shoals (such as the {{USS|Astraeus}} and the {{USS|Artemis}}) frustrate her greatly. Because of this, she is considered by her fellow crew to have a particularly 'sharp' demeanor. When irritated, she becomes considerably cold and blunt, but if Blake is known for one thing, it's that she hardly ever raises her voice to others.

 

Despite engaging in many ''casual'' relationships, she still wears three rings denoting her marriage to Sabor, her [[Vulcan]] bondmate whom was killed in 2391 - located on her right hand thumb, second, and fourth fingers.
