Due to this Starfleet Intelligence was able to acquire records that seem to indicate that in 2409 [[Romulan]] colonists on the planet Hfihar were attacked by multiple beings that seem to resemble the M-113 creatures. The creatures were resistant to handheld weapons fire, could change their appearance to infiltrate crowds of colonists, and seemed to use some kind of psionic attacks against Romulan troops.
