Aleana grew up in the suburbs of Moscow with her mother, father and older siblings. Being the youngest of three children, she often found herself receiving her parents affections over her brother and sister. Her decision to join Starfleet shocked her family as no member of the family had ever left Earth, let alone been a part of a military organization. This decision has left her estranged from her parents. However, both her brother and sister have supported her endeavor.

Aleana is an outgoing young woman. She always has a bright smile on her face and tends to have a light hearted streak to herself. That being said, when the situation calls for her to step up to the plate and knuckle down, she does so no questions asked. Having only graduated from the Academy in 2390, he head is still in the clouds with illusions of grandeur and epic adventures. It is taking her a while to adapt to the often mundane reality of being an Engineer on a Starship.

Aleana was assigned to the USS Vigilant-A having finished her training cruise aboard Deep Space 6. She participated in the ships first mission to Eridax where she was assigned to the way team tasked with exploring one of the cave systems located in a temperate rainforest on the planet. The mission did not go entirely as planned. Whilst exploring the cave system, two members of the away team became injured. Aleana, with help from [[Tagren, Aribelle|Aribelle Tagren]] treated [[Pavlova, Irina|Irina Pavlova]] and helped move her safely to a location where they could be rescued. Following the rescue and the Vigilant's subsequent arrival at Deep Space six, Aleana found herself reassigned to an Engineering team tasked with repairing and maintaining the severely damaged Starbase 118.
