The Octavia E. Butler has arrived at Seytoxal following a brief stopover at Deep Space 14. We took aboard some new personnel and oversaw the transfers of a few others, including Lieutenant Commander Moydol and Lieutenant Kessler.
In truth I was almost among them. I requested court-martial proceedings from Commodore V'Airu, although there was no loss of a vessel and no motion brought against me. The commodore's office declined to hold the proceedings, even though I tried to impress upon them the destructive potential of the ballistic warp attack and inadvertent tactical advantages we may have delivered to the Zet war machine.
Then, too, we do not know what will yet happen with the Zet occupation on Koreli IV, although our final gambit regarding the Danni-Federation membership request has resulted in a continued Flotilla presence at Koreli, currently represented by the Charity and the Bosch.
We have also transferred Prince Grend following his asylum request -- and following the deaths of his father and uncle during the course of the mission -- to Deep Space 14. Among the specialists aboard now are those who can more fully investigate the claims of personality imprints in the Butler's computer systems.
I commend my officers and crew for their service and fortitude, though rarely have I found a mission's results so troubling -- and rarely have I myself been so troubled by my actions during a mission.
The crew is enjoying shore leave now. I should try to enjoy it myself.
