Personality
She tends to be direct and dislikes pointless conversation. She can be slightly obsessive and 'detail oriented' or fussy depending on who you talk to. Like most of her people she has a well developed artistic sense and appreciates classic music and literature. She has managed to keep a few books with her and says she prefers the feel of an old book to reading something on a PADD. Like her mother she is one of the Children of the Son and this is important to her, she tolerates her father's stubborn devotion to the old gods.
Background
Lydia was born on the family estate near the city of Nova Herculeneum. She had a fairly typical (ie. uneventful) childhood and was educated to be a good Magna Roman woman. This meant she basically learned what she would need to know to run an estate and manage servants, with more creative subjects thrown in according to the whim of tutors and parents. She learned basic self defence and was more athletic than her mother liked, but generally was a good obedient daughter of the family and the state. When her father became ill her brother took over the estate but lost most of the family assets gambling on the games. Her younger brother ended up joining the police force rather than becoming a slave and Lydia made her way to the nearest Star Fleet recruiter.
