Personal History
Born on Stardate 235507.01 in the city of Gheryzan on Trill, Sanara Pran is the eldest of the five children born to Horun and Yeesem Pram and the only member of her family to ever have graduated from Starfleet Academy (her paternal grandmother was accepted and then expelled, the details of which are never spoken about since it brought “great shame” to the Pran family). Even as a child, Sanara was noted for her gregarious and amiable personality as well as her tendency to daydream and spend her time doodling instead of schoolwork. Along with her mother and most of her siblings, Sanara was also incredibly creative as a child- which made her decision to enter Starfleet Academy (never known on Trill for it’s artistic talents) all the more puzzling to her baffled friends and relations.
At the academy, Sanara proved to be a popular and enthusiastic cadet whose dedication to her studies was occasionally undermined by her bubbly personality and lack of a filter. She continues to deny that she was caught streaking across the academy grounds in a dare with her friends, although several of them maintain to this very day that she was caught by one her Starfleet History lecturer. While her gregarious nature remains, it has been tempered through her assignments- which have often proved to be emotionally taxing and challenging. In 2384, during an assignment to the Headquarters of the Allied Reconstruction Force on Cardassia Prime she was assigned to a team investigating the murder of a Bajoran aid worker. Her experiences, which she does not like to discuss, were noted on her file as having an impact of her to the extent that she required several intensive counselling sessions.
