One of her signature looks includes a plaid shirt, which she wore out on a shopping trip where the term “Lumberjack Sam” was coined.

Samantha Richards one of the second oldest of 5. Born and raised in Bigfork Montana. She has three brothers. Nathan who is the oldest, Blake who is technically the second oldest and Sam’s twin brother- who is older by 27 minutes and never lets her forget it, and Hunter who is the youngest brother. Sam has one sister, Alexis, who was killed by a grizzly bear at the age of 12.
Sam spent the majority of her life in Glacier National Park, where her family resides and runs the park. Her heart was never set on taking up the family business, instead she dreamed of a life in the stars. With her first telescope in hand, Sam quickly discovered not only did she want to live out in the stars, but to know everything there was about those stars and the planets surrounding them. Through her entire schooling career she spent every second of her free time researching and studying science. Her parents always joked about how Sam was equal parts smart and wild.
Sam was never interested in Starfleet knowing the constraints would hinder her particularly free demeanor. In 2401 Sam graduated from Montana State University with her Masters in Planetary Science. When she met Robin Hopper and learned more about Amity Outpost, she knew the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Frontier Day and the many events that followed, led to Sam Transferring to the USS Artemis-A. She joined the crew as a Civilian Scientist and is now currently living with Talos Dakora in the XO's Quarters as they await the arrival of their twins.

Born and raised in Big Fork, Montana, Jennifer is part of a long line of Park Rangers responsible for the upkeep and protection of the Glacier National Forest. She was always considered one of the 'popular crowd' growing up, with her friendly and bubbly personality. Her parents passed when she was fairly young, leaving her with the responsibility of watching over the National Park. One day while doing work and chores around her home near the entrance to the park, a fire started that nearly took her life and destroyed everything left to her by her parents, were it not for one brave fire fighter. |

Born and Raised in San Francisco, California, Patrick grew up in a family full of Starfleet Officers. There was of course the pressure for him to go into Starfleet as well, but he didn't envision a life among the stars like the rest of his family. His dream started at a young age, watching old movies about Fire Fighters. After graduating from high school, Patrick set out to find somewhere he could fulfill his dream. His travels landed him in Wyoming, working as a fire fighter for what remained of the Yellowstone National Park. While on a short vacation up into Montana with some of his friends, Patrick saved the life of a young woman whose house caught on fire just inside the Glacier National Park. A woman who he would one day marry. |

Nathan Richards Brother- Age 31, Human |
Nathan being the oldest of the Richards children he was the one to set the example. He spent much of his younger years among the forest of Glacier National Park, until he found his love for engineering. After Nathan had heard countless stories about life in the stars he decided he was destined for Starfleet. After the Academy Nathan was assigned to Amity Outpost. |

Blake Richards Twin Brother- Age 28, Human |
Blake Is the second oldest Richards child and Sam's twin brother. While they are twins, the two could not be more different. Their mom was insistent on making sure they didn't do the typical "twin" things like matching outfits and such. It was quickly found he was much more tame than his older brother Nathan. Blake as a kid spent most of his time reading books and hiding in the park. After high school Blake went to University to become a lawyer, later deciding to drop out and work in the park full time alongside his parents. He was eventually reunited with a love interest from University, his name is Mike. Mike and Blake reignited their flame and eventually married in the park at the Richards homestead. |

Hunter Richards Brother- Age 21, Human |
Hunter knew from a young age he wanted to be a doctor. His parents always found injured wildlife hidden around the house that Hunter was nursing back to health. After graduating and spending a year working in the park Hunter went off to the Academy to become the doctor he always knew he wanted to be. Once he finishes the Academy his plans are to spend his time in Starfleet among the stars. |

Alexis Richards Sister- Age 12(Deceased), Human |
Alexis was the baby of the family. A fun loving, free spirited girl. She looked up to her big brother Nathan and wanted to do everything he did. Their favorite hiking trail turned into a nightmare one day when Alexis went off without Nathan and was fatally attacked by a grizzly bear. Nathan getting severely hurt trying to save Alexis from the bear. Sam doesn’t talk much about her little sister, she has yet to speak openly about what happened that day. |

Days After the devastation of Frontier Day, Sam went to seek solace at a bar in San Francisco, when a tall handsome Talos introduced himself to her. Despite Talos not wanting things to get weird and spending time with Nathan Richards’ sister, he took a chance and they spent a wild night bar hopping, doing flaming shots and cliff jumping. Even after best efforts on both sides, they spent the night together. After weeks apart and many flirtatious messages sent between the two, Sam went back to the Artemis. During her visit the two discovered Sam was pregnant with twins and they would soon be parents. Despite barely knowing each other, they agreed they were in this together. Which ultimately led to Sam transferring to the Artemis where they now live together and are adjusting to their newfound relationship and impending parenthood. |

Robin is easily one of Sam’s biggest role models. Nathan and Robin came to Earth for Blake's wedding, where Sam got to meet Nathey-poo’s Girlfriend. They hit it off quickly and Robin helped nudge Sam towards life in the Delta Quadrant. Sam's time on Amity with Robin was one she won't forget. Now that Robin is going to be a part of the family, she is excited to call her a sister. |

Walking the streets of San Francisco, Sam and Nathan found a small kitten hidden in the bushes. There was no way she was going to leave the poor lonely kitten alone and took it home with her back to Amity. Lovingly named in honor of Amity's debute name Copernicus Station. |

Sam met Niev on Frontier Day. In the midst of the worst day of her life, she was introduced to the timid Science Officer. Later that day they would both be assimilated by the Borg and become Six of Eleven and Seven of Eleven. The two have yet to talk much about what happened that day, but the time they spent together on Earth afterwards would be forever memorable. Matching tattoos, ice cream and arguing about their favorite planets were just some of the things they did to cope with the unfortunate situation they met in. Sam quickly latched into Niev as one of her friends, whether Niev knows that or not is to be determined. |

Although the two have not spent much time together, Sam does enjoy Esma’s company and thinks she is actually quite funny. One of Sam's last memorable moments with Esma on Amity was dressing up in a lobster costume and dancing with Kaito Moore at Esma's behest. |
