At first, Della was a bit confused about what was going on, but she was able to put bits together as the talking carried on. Something about a dead Klingon, and the fact that the Empire wasn't too pleased about it. She'd have put more effort into following the conversation, but something else caught her attention...

Something... A feeling... Looking around her she quickly narrowed it down to the Lt. Cmdr. she'd not seen before.

oO So you must be Diamond, I guess. Oo

Whatever the feeling was, it was strong enough for her to be picking up even without trying, and that didn't bode especially well... With a sense of weary resignation, she opened her senses, just enough for a quick peek, and shut herself down again *fast*. Anger, sorrow, regret. All mingled together, and intense enough that she didn't want to risk looking any harder.

oO What happened...? Oo

He didn't seem to be showing it on the outside. His face and posture gave no hint of what he as feeling, but it was clear enough to her to cause a little worry. She didn't have time to think about it any more, as she caught a particularly nasty insult being thrown by Tash, and Assanti's quick reprimand. Realising she'd missed a big chunk of the conversation, she tried to pay attention, and catch up. As the Klingon spoke, however, she started getting a nagging feeling she'd have been better off not listening...

Yu'ltak: :: breathing heavily, and unclinching his fists :: A Partnership, for the benefit of the empire and your people. A Marriage. To one of the Empire's Finest soldiers. A prodigy of Perfection. One of our youngest and finest generals.

Assanti: And if I refuse?

Yu'ltak: Adding insult to injury...fines will be placed, and the empire will come collect those that do no qualify for fines.

oO I'm sorry, WHAT!?! Oo

Her worry about Diamond quickly found itself swamped under another feeling as the Klingon carried on laying out his terms. It wasn't something she was used to experiencing at all, but the cold rage that began to burn inside her seemed almost welcome as she listened. The conversation carried on, getting worse by the moment, it seemed, and she didn't notice the way her hands slid together in her lap, one sliding subtly into the sleeve of the other, as if reaching for something hidden there...

Abruptly, the sound of her name brought her back into focus.

Assanti: ...Lt. jg Vetri, please see to his needs. ::With a look of having be dazed by some blow to the head, Cura waved her hand to the rest.:: Rest of your are dismissed.

Yu'ltak watched as Assanti left the conference room.

Yu'tak: :: looking at tash :: SO, i do not need quarters..your ten forward will be sufficient. I need a drink. Lead on.

Tash: ::not looking happy, or nice:: Certainly.

Rising a bit unsteadily from her seat, Della followed the pair, well aware of the cold silence that wrapped around the trio as they headed out, but not trusting herself to break it in any way that didn't involve potential violence.

oO Short blade, base of the skull. I could do it here and now and you'd never even notice, would you ya lumpy headed... Oo

Something in the back of her mind was yelling at her that what she was thinking was wrong, wasn't her, but she was just too frakked off to pay attention.

Eventually, they reached the bar, and she found herself standing with Tash, watching Yu'ltak drink.

Perkins: =/\= Tash , Fanel and Diamond could you join me in the ready room now please it is very urgent. Perkins out. =/\=

Tash: If you'll excuse me.

She didn't watch Tash go, but she could feel him leave, just like she could feel the pair of officers he sent over join them, just like she could feel the hilt of a duranium steel blade in her palm.
