PERSONAL HISTORY Born in the refugee camps on Valo II and later growing up in the Hedrikspool Province of Bajor, Rubani Praya knew nothing but hardship and want until the Cardassian withdrawl from Bajor and its colonies. In 2368, three weeks shy of her 10th birthday she is given a jacket by Starfleet officer- and later Maquis agent- Ro Laren. She begins to aspire to a career in Starfleet, touched the efforts of the Starship Enterprise to render aid to the struggling Bajorans, in the face of the Quadrant’s general ignorance of their plight. Praya’s parents, former resistance fighters were both killed by Cardassians during the Bajoran Occupation- her father dies liberating the labour camp at Gallitep and her mother, six months later, ambushing Gul Dolmat’s transport on Bajor VIII. At the time of her mother’s passing, Praya was two and a half. She was taught by her adoptive parents to hate Cardassians on sight- and did so, until, in 2375- aged 17- she saw the news feeds from Cardassia Prime after the Dominion’s massacre of 800 million civilians. Moved by their plight, she travelled to the stricken world aboard the U.S.S Enterprise-E and was once again impressed with their dedication. At the end of her month long stay on the ruins of Cardassia, she applied for Starfleet Medical and was accepted on the strength of her resilence helping the improvished Cardassians. During her third year at Starfleet Medical she met Cortala Emman, a final year medical student and a fellow Bajoran. Although he later dropped out as he ‘lost’ his calling for medicine, the two began a relationship and were married in 2381 aboard the U.S.S. Phaedra, having received a blessing from Kassidy Sisko-Yates, the wife of the Emmisary Of The Prophets, three months before hand. Both Praya and Emman are devout followers of the Prophets, both having made pilgramages to the monasteries to view the ancient Orbs of the Prophets, though neither of them have both experiend a vision (a pagh’tem’far). Both attend temple prayers at the station’s Bajoran Temple.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY Praya graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy in the top 10% of her class in 2380 and was assigned to the research vessel U.S.S. Phaedra as a junior medical researcher. She received a commendation in 2382 from the Phaedra’s CO, Commander Masc Rizzoli for her contributions towards developing a cure for the plague affecting the Federation colony on Styris IX. Upon the ship’s decommissioning in 2386, she was assigned to the U.S.S. Flemming. That vessel was destroyed by Nero while responding to the destruction of Romulus and Remus. At the time, she was on a pilgrimage with her husband to the Ashalla Monastery where she viewed the Orb of Prophecy & Change. She took the ship’s destruction as a sign to remain closer to home and transferred to the Headquarters of the Allied Reconstruction Force on Cardassia Prime, returning to the work that she begun as a civilian medic over a decade previous, this time as a member of a fleet. She and Emman lived in the H.A.R.F. compound at first before moving to civilian dwellings in the Northern Torr district. She assisted in the care of patients afflicted with Dust Fever in 2390, briefly becoming infected herself, although ultimately cured When H.A.R.F closed and Starfleet withdrew in late 2392, she was assigned to Starbase 118 as a medical officer- Emman joining her, opening a carpenter’s on the Promenade.
